About North Burnet

North Burnet is the stretch of Austin where the city's tech-economy future is being built in real time. Running along Burnet Road between US-183 and Braker Lane, this corridor has transformed from a landscape of ageing strip malls and warehouse parks into one of the metro's densest concentrations of office, residential, and entertainment development. The centrepiece is Q2 Stadium, the verde-and-black home of Austin FC that opened in 2021 and immediately turned the surrounding blocks into a match-day destination for 20,000-plus fans. Around the stadium, new apartment towers, co-working spaces, and restaurant concepts are filling in rapidly, creating an emerging walkable district that connects south to the Domain. East of the corridor, the Burnet Road food scene has exploded with nationally recognised restaurants like Uchi, Loro, and Barley Swine setting up shop alongside Korean fried chicken joints, ramen counters, and barbecue trailers. The area also benefits from two H-E-B locations, a Whole Foods, and a cluster of Asian supermarkets that reflect the corridor's diverse demographics. Housing runs the full spectrum. Older single-family homes from the 1960s and 70s sit on side streets behind the commercial frontage, while brand-new luxury apartments and condos tower over the main road. For renters and buyers who work in tech — Apple's campus is nearby, and Meta, Amazon, and Indeed all have offices in the Domain — North Burnet offers a commute measured in minutes rather than miles. It's not a cozy neighbourhood in the traditional sense, but it's one of the most dynamic places to live in Austin right now.
